State of the state: business ethics

The Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance has announced 27 finalists for its annual awards, designed to honor Colorado’s top ethical role models in business and nonprofit organizations.

The finalists – 17 companies, six nonprofits and four individuals – represent a wide range of industries and community organizations, including health-care providers, youth agencies, law firms and retailers.

“We’re pleased that we have such a diverse group of high-quality finalists from throughout the state,” says Anthony King, president of CEBA’s Board of Directors.

The honorees will be recognized at the 20th annual CEBA Awards Luncheon on March 31, 2011 at Denver’s Marriott City Center.

There are 17 finalists for the 2011 CEBA Business Ethics Award. Denver-area finalists include Holland & Hart LLP; Kazoo & Co. Toys; Corona Research; Public Service Credit Union; Applewood Plumbing and Heating; and Brothers Plumbing and Heating.

Fort Collins-area finalists include Otter Box Products LLC; Integware Inc.; Spanjer Construction Corp.; and Gallegos Sanitation.

The Boulder area finalists are Amadeus Consulting and Symbiotic Engineering.

Finalists from other communities include: Growing Spaces LLC of Pagosa Springs; Deer Creek Animal Hospital of Littleton; Key Equipment Finance of Superior; Dairy Specialists LLC, of Evans; and EnergyLogic of Berthoud.

The six finalists for the Samaritan Institute Award are: Brothers Redevelopment, Denver; Bayaud Enterprises, Denver; The Jefferson Foundation, Lakewood; The Bridgeway, Lakewood; Family Tree, Wheat Ridge; and YMCA of Metropolitan Denver.

The four finalists for the Daniel Ritchie Award are: Dr. Gary Vander Ark of Doctors Care, Littleton; Attorney Daniel Lynch of Denver; John Hopkins of Rocky Mountain Health Plans, Grand Junction; and Omar Postigo-Martell of Well Translated of Lyons.
