Here are the Best of Colorado Business Choice 2016 winners and finalists in the Lodging/Accommodations category.

BEST BUSINESS HOTEL

Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center

People think the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center is new, but it has been there for ten years. The layout, the design and the facility are timeless, and the meeting rooms have been refreshed, says Greg Leonard, Hyatt Regency Denver general manager. The reason people come back, though, is the friendly, helpful staff of 650. Leonard says he recently received a letter from a guest thanking him because an assistant executive steward, who handles silverware and tableware at events, helped her find the correct room when she could not locate her breakout session at a meeting. “We focus on our people, on making sure they are taken care of so they can take care of all those other folks,” he says.

BEST EVENT PLANNING SERVICE

Morevents

Gareth Heyman, whose title is Wizard of All Things at MorEvents, really means it when he says every event is different. One client held a board of directors meeting in the Grand Canyon, so Morevents had to helicopter in everyone and everything. Another client, King Soopers, held a health and wellness expo at the Colorado Convention Center, and had a temporary supermarket installed at the event. When St. Joseph Hospital moved to its new facility, it had a grand reopening in the ambulance bay. “Although we use as much technology as we can, at the end of the day events are still people driven,” says Heyman, a principal of the 20-year-old firm. “We love what we do and we hope they will too.”
