Centennial Bank and Trust takes a swipe against breast cancer

The bank launches its Pink Ribbon debit card program across Colorado

Centennial Bank and Trust has rolled out its Pink Ribbon Debit Card program through the month of October at all 17 locations. The bank is offering new and existing customers an opportunity to fight breast cancer throughout Colorado. Every time a customer uses the card to make a purchase, Centennial Bank and Trust will make a contribution to Platte Valley Medical Center.

“Any time a customer swipes their card, we all take a swipe against a deadly disease right here at home — a disease that has likely touched everyone in some way,” Centennial Bank and Trust President Steve Ward says. “As a community bank, this is a great way for us to give back and support a local program with a tremendous impact.”

Pink Ribbon debit cards are free and available with all Centennial Bank and Trust personal checking accounts. For each swipe, the bank makes a contribution, at no cost to the customer, toward the local fight against breast cancer.

The Platte Valley Medical Center’s Women’s Imaging Center is the beneficiary of the Pink Ribbon Debit Card program, which provides breast cancer awareness and convenient access to preventive screening, while supporting all aspects of coordination for patients with cancer.

“We are grateful for Centennial Bank and Trust’s Pink Ribbon Debit Card program.  Every contribution stays in our community and benefits local residents,” says Carol Baumgartner, executive director, Platte Valley Medical Center Foundation. “Medicare and Medicaid data reveal that only four out of 10 women who are candidates for screening mammography are actually completing an annual mammogram.

"The Pink Ribbon program not only helps us raise awareness of the benefits of early detection and treatment of breast cancer, it helps us expand services, hours, and has brought state-of-the-art 3D digital mammography with computer aided detection (CAD) capabilities to our patients.”
