Denver lawyers are tightening their laces in preparation for the Legal Industry Division of the Corporate Cup Legal Challenge at the Colfax Marathon on May 15.
Teams of five will divvy-up the 26.2 mile route in hopes of bringing home the “Sole of the Law” trophy (former Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Bender's bronzed running shoe) and cash awards for charity. Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP took home the shoe in 2015.
At stake are bragging rights and $1,000 in "prize money” for the winning team in each industry category, which is forwarded to the charity partner of the winning team. It costs each team $249 to participate, and the marathon will be broken up into five segments, the shortest being 4-5 miles and longest being 6-7 miles.
After the race, runners will gather in the Legal Village at the City Park finish line. Many other industry divisions such as accounting, finance and restaurants will also be competing for bragging rights and sponsored charities. Create your own team to compete at the May 15 event!
