Each year, ColoradoBiz honors the Top Companies across the state in 11 industry categories. Here are the 2016 finalists in the Nonprofit category.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado

Big Brothers Big Sisters came to Colorado in 1918 after its founding in New York 14 years earlier. BBBS partners with parents/guardians to help guide and mentor younger individuals facing adversity. As of 2016, BBBS of Colorado will support nearly 1,700 one-on-one mentoring relationships.

HopeWest

In its first year of operation in 1993, HopeWest cared for 81 clients with a staff of six. Today, HopeWest has a loyal staff of 300 people and 1,500 volunteers who provide care to more than 4,000 clients coping with grief. HopeWest offers an array of different care tactics. Whether its grief counseling for preschoolers or equine therapy, HopeWest tries to specifically target client needs.

Medical Group Management Association

MGMA is a statewide health care provider comprised of medical practice managers, administrators and executives. The purpose of this nonprofit program is to better the health care system by giving members the opportunity to embark on a professional and personal growth experience through special education and networking with colleagues.
