With nearly 6,000 manufacturers across a wide spectrum of business sectors, ColoradoBiz magazine welcomes the statewide business community to its 5th annual Made in Colorado forum and awards, highlighting the brilliance and business savvy of the manufacturing sector and its impact on the local economy.

The event will take place Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Mile High Station from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., during which time the annual Made 250 list of manufacturers will be unveiled, along with business networking opportunities, award hand-outs, Made in Colorado exhibitors and special guest speakers.

The start of the day will feature an exclusive manufacturing luncheon and business-to-business speed-dating session to discuss challenges and opportunities in the marketplace, sponsored by the Colorado Advanced Manufacturing Alliance (CAMA). General admission opens at 2 p.m. for Made in Colorado exhibitors who will be providing demonstrations, tastes and take-homes of their unique products and processes.

We’re excited to announce a few special guests, including Gov. John Hickenlooper, who will talk about the statewide economic impact and cool things that manufacturers are doing and making across Colorado.

The Panel of Peers discussion, covering management and growth of local manufacturing businesses, will begin at 3:15 p.m. ColoradoBiz is excited to announce our 2017 panelists:

  • Ben Parsons – CEO, Founder of Infinite Monkey Theorem, a Denver-based urban winery.
  • Shannon Duffy – Owner, Co-Founder of Tender Belly, Denver pork products.
  • Ben Grimes – VP Production, of Tuff Shed, Denver manufacturer and installer of storage building and garages.
  • Ted Eynon – CO-Owner, of Meier Skis, eco-friendly high performance skis and snowboards.

The annual Made In Colorado Awards ceremony will follow, including the Most Ethical Manufacturer, Most Innovative Manufacturer, Best Food + Beverage Maker, Emerging Manufacturer and Top Designed Goods. A networking reception closes the day, with local makers continuing to sample their products.

With confidence in our geography and infrastructure, Colorado is miles ahead of most of the country with its highly skilled work force, research tools, creativity and supportive community, uncovering the latest advancements in manufacturing.
