Colorado exec Dan Simon joins Nutrinsic as president and CEO

He previously headed an algae biotech company

Nutrinsic Corp., a Glendale-based sustainable nutrition company, has appointed Dan Simon as president, CEO and member of the board of directors.

Prior to joining Nutrinsic, Simon was president and CEO at Heliae Technology Holdings, an algae biotech company which produced a range of nutraceutical, agro-science, nutrition, and personal care products. Previously, Dan co-founded Denver-based Biofuel Energy Corporation, a public ethanol company where Dan oversaw the growth of the company from inception to more than $600 millionin annual revenue. Simon also founded Elevant Advisors and was an executive at TIC (a Kiewit company), NCH Corp. and Ecolab, Inc.

At Nutrinsic, Simon will direct all facets of the company including strategy, product development, operations, financing and build-out of a global footprint. Former CEO Leo Gingras will remain a consultant and on the Board of Advisors.
