Evolution Digital, A Front-Runner For Low-Cost Set-Top Boxes

CEO of the Year finalist, Chris Egan came by his entrepreneurial chops honestly

Published:

Chris Egan comes by his entrepreneurial chops honestly: His father, John Egan, founded Arris and acted as chairman and CEO until 2002.

Now, John Egan serves as chairman at Evolution Digital, acting as an adviser to his son. The younger Egan has made Evolution Digital a front-runner for low-cost innovative set-top boxes in the U.S. and internationally.

His regulatory efforts with the FCC enabled cable operators to reclaim bandwidth in a cost-effective manner. He is now paving the way for IP video solutions with eBOX IP Hybrid STB and eVUE-TV, which helps cable operators save costs and provide a deep catalog of content for customers.

Since its founding in 2008, Evolution Digital has grown from a local staff of 12 to a far-flung 90. To keep the team’s family feel, Egan hosts quarterly “All Team Meetings,” where employees travel in from all over the world to do something together.
