Founder and director of Basic Materials and Services LLC., Hal Logan moved to Denver in the late 1980s with his wife, Ann, and quickly got involved in community service through arts and cultural institutions. More than 30 years later, the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts honored Logan for his contributions to the creative economy with the John Madden Jr. Leadership award in 2018.

Local organizations he has participated within include Historic Denver, Denver Botanic Gardens, Denver Museum of Nature and Science and more. Presently, Logan serves as chairman of the board for the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation. Nearly six years ago, Gov. John Hickenlooper appointed him to the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District Board.

"Ann ad I are very big on education, and the important role that science, culture and the arts can play," Logan says. He hopes to "help build organizations that will outlive us, [and] survive to continue to provide these services to the community."
