ACG President's Letter

President’s letter

ACG is committed to helping organizations grow both organically and through merger and acquisition activity. The ACG Denver chapter, now more than a decade old, currently has membership of around 400 individuals broken down between corporations, service providers and private equity groups and intermediaries.

The Denver chapter was voted chapter of the year globally for 2008—reflective of how fast this organization is growing in the Denver market. It’s a wonderful place for corporate executives, service providers to meet, share ideas, best practices and to generally connect as part of the deal community.

Building off of one of ACG Denver’s signature events is its Rocky Mountain Growth Conference, which takes place every March. Reflective of the economy, ACG is trying to figure out challenges and opportunities to navigate through these difficult economic times.

ACG is about sharing best practices. In this environment, folks are just wondering how to navigate. We’re over the catastrophic doom and gloom visions. A lot of people are. Hopefully most of the large, significant shoes have dropped.

What we’re seeing in our corporate community is just how people are going to weather this storm and find that opportunity. One constant theme we’re seeing – as people go back and look on past recessions and past cycles – are places where, in times like these, significant competitive advantages are created.
