Great Strides is the CF Foundation’s largest fund-raising event. It provides opportunities for all people within a local community to get involved forming teams through their workplace, through clubs and organizations or with friends and family. Walk day is a fun, family-oriented celebration that includes a healthy walk, Kids’ Corner activities, food, and festivities that participants look forward to year after year.

Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center Open House

Whether by car, truck, or horse and buggy, horse lovers and admirers are invited to a free open house and adoption day at the Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center. The open house will take place on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the equine center located at 5540 E. Highway 86, just west of Franktown. Enjoy guided tours, horse trainings and demonstrations, food and refreshments from local food trucks, and meet horses available for adoption. No RSVP required.

Strawberry Festival Antique Show

Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Location: Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Rd., Longmont, CO 80501

Antique show fundraiser benefiting historic preservation and education. Show features 80 dealers in high-end antiques and collectibles, from around Colorado and out of state. Café will be serving BBQ sandwiches and Strawberry Shortcake with freshly whipped cream! Show will also feature art show, and DAR selling delicious baked goods, book table selling local history books, and glass grinder will be on site. Cost is $5 per person and children under 12 are free.

The job interview: probably one of the most stressful situations you will face in your career. Are your interview skills as polished as they should be? During this three hour workshop, we will study the ins and outs of interviewing from a practical point-of-view. Learn how to handle different interviewer's styles, the significance of non-verbal communication and how to behave in a behavioral interview. Discover the best questions to ask the employer to reveal the truth about the potential job. Best of all, you will practice your new interviewing skills and get helpful feedback from the rest of the group. Teacher Donna Shannon is a former corporate recruiter who has been leading employment workshops since 2004. Donna's book Get a Job Without Going Crazy was released in late 2009.
