Full-service restaurants and limited-service restaurants are the two categories of business industry most likely to be investigated. Full service restaurants alone have more than 12,000 cases while the next highest non-restaurant industry, hotels and motels, have just 4,500. Another reason for increased enforcement is that restaurants employ a high percentage of what the WHD refers to as “vulnerable workers”. By Kalen Fraser

Such compensation packages will be based on achievement of specified RI goals for the five-year targets contemplated in the vision and specified in the strategic and business plans. In 2005, Suzanne Akin launched Akinz as a side project in Houston. She moved to Colorado in 2007, worked in real estate, the ski industry and graphic design before going full-time with her hat and clothing company in 2010. “It started as T-shirts,” Akin says. “Now it’s all about the beanies.
