You might think that your existing management team will buy your company when you are ready to leave. You may have even had this discussion with them and all sides think it is the likely path.  But what if, when the time comes, the team can’t get the financing to go through with the purchase?  Do you have a backup option?  Your management team knows the company inside and out and won’t need to go through a lot of due diligence.  Not true of an outside buyer.  If you have not thought through all of the potential scenarios you might find that the company is not in a position to be sold to anyone other than management due to the lack of proper financial protocols that an outside buyer would need. The EPA recognized DaVita for its sustainability initiatives, and DaVita is a member of the Business Roundtable’s Sustainable Growth and Climate RESOLVE initiatives to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions within the industry. Newsweek’s 2012 U.S. Green Ranking placed DaVita at number 209, up 33 spots from the previous year. The company has set goals to reduce energy consumption by 15 percent, paper consumption by 20 percent, water consumption by 10 percent, and to increase environmentally preferable procurement by 10 percent by 2015. Through the early-mid 1990s, she was a leading sales professional at now-defunct Pilot Research in Denver, until a chance meeting in a grocery store parking lot, when the self-proclaimed “energizer bunny” was convinced to make the professional pivot to business coach and acquired the necessary training to open Denver-based Ray Consulting Services in 1995.
