A&E best bets: Cirque’s ‘Wheel of Death,’ Depeche Mode and comedian Greg Proops
At long last, Cirque du Soleil: Kooza arrived in Denver last week under a special “Grand Chapiteau” big top next to the Pepsi Center. Running through Oct. 4, Kooza tells the story of The Innocent, “a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world,” and combines acrobatic performance and clowning. Our favorite act: the “Wheel of Death.” Tickets, $38.50-$215. By Rebecca Cole

Get it Right: Rieslings Ain’t So Sweet
Dismissing Riesling as "just a sweet, German wine" is dangerous. Dry and semi-dry Rieslings are produced in a number of wine regions and, while it’s true that Riesling’s roots are in Germany, today Riesling grapes and wines are produced in many countries and regions around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States. Tarantino conjures Nazi-hunting Jews in “Inglourious Basterds”
This was an interesting week in the cineplex with a revisionist World War II film from wunderkind Quentin Tarantino and a goofball kids movie that’s quite a bit more funny for adults. “Inglourious Basterds” is one of the more interesting World War II films to come out in quite a few years, while “Shorts” is a fast-paced riot of a film.By Dave Taylor
