Teleconference system links rural patients with health-care providers

UnitedHealthcare is launching its Connected Care program in Colorado to give patients in rural communities expanded access to physicians and specialists through the use of video and audio teleconferencing systems. The Colorado program is among the first in the company’s effort with Cisco and others to build a national telehealth network. The state of Colorado, Centura Health and the Colorado Rural Health Center also are supporting the program.
