CBCA pays tribute to professionals leading the way for arts and culture
The acknowledgements were broken down into five categories, including:
- EY NEXT WAVE LEADERSHIP AWARD
- IMPACT AWARD
- JOHN MADDEN, JR. LEADERSHIP AWARD
- PHILANTHROPY AWARD
The EY NEXT WAVE LEADERSHIP AWARD is granted to a single young, enthusiastic professional leading the charge of Colorado's cultural contributions of the future.
"I found out that my business could thrive by supporting community and supporting the arts," Khalatbari said, calling civic engagement an "obligation," and adding that, "It's not about the bottom line; it's about helping. It's about being apart of being something bigger than ourselves."
Judges explained they selected Stevens as a finalist, and later (spoiler alert … WINNER) for making the arts more accessible to young professionals through organizations and events including Denver Startup Week, Impact Denver, CityBuild and the Colorado Symphony.
"We're not watering anything down," Stevens said. "We're providing a very inviting, comprehensible first step."
