Norwich University’s College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS) started a new online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program, which is designed to provide students with the communication, leadership and problem-solving skills needed as a high-level manager. The program is set to begin in May 2020.

“This program follows Norwich’s tradition of providing students with rigorous and relevant programs needed to develop skills that keep them competitive in the field,” CGCS Vice President and Dean Bill Clements says.

Similar to other CGCS programs, the online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program will reinforce Norwich’s 200-year history of preparing students to be leaders in their fields. The program curriculum will provide a foundation in management principles and practices so that students can lead a team effectively.  It will start with six concentration paths, which include: cyber security management, human resource management, leadership studies, procurement and contract management, financial services management and supply chain management. Concentrations in accounting, finance and marketing will be added to the program after program launch.

The online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program will continue to follow CGCS’ generous transfer credit policy. Students have the opportunity to transfer up to 90 semester credit hours of prior college coursework, on-the-job and military training, certifications and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams so that the program can be completed in as few as 18 months. The program also offers multiple start dates per year so that working students can start the program when it best fits around their busy schedules.

Coinciding with the program launch, CGCS named Daniel Alcorn, MPA, MBA, as the program manager of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program. Alcorn has been an adjunct faculty member in Norwich’s business & management department since 2012. He teaches and has developed courses in management and business.

“In a world that is constantly and quickly changing, effective managers are needed now more than ever,” Alcorn says. “The goal of this program is to provide students with the management expertise necessary to lead businesses and face challenges in the modern world.”

The online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program is part of the Norwich University CGCS 2020 new program initiative. Norwich is launching seven new online programs throughout 2020. New programs include three new online bachelor’s programs: business administration, computer science and information systems, and data analytics, and four new online master’s programs: accounting, business analytics, information systems, and nurse practitioner, a new concentration within the existing online Master of Science in Nursing program.

Students who are interested in earning a master’s degree may enter into Norwich’s online Master of Business Administration program upon completion of the bachelor’s program.
