ADPERIO, INC.

In a job market with a record-breaking 2.6% unemployement rate, company culture is of the utmost importance for Colorado employers seeking outstanding employees.  Which is why each year, ColoradoBiz, in partnership with ICC: Innovate. Coach. Consult., seeks and awards the companies (small, medium and large) that go above and beyond to culivate company cultures worth working for. These three companies – one winner and two finalists – represent the Best Small Companies to Work for in Colorado.

WINNER

Adperio Inc.

Denver

Adperio, which manages clients’ online media, has developed a “team first” culture that relies on a set of core values to foster collaboration, learning and adaptability.

“We expect the best from our team, and they deserve the best in return,” Adperio President Jill Fletcher says. Beyond flexible PTO options, paid holidays, parental leave and a generous 401(k) matching program, Adperio’s in-house “vibe manager” focuses solely on elevating the daily workplace experience for the company’s 43 Colorado-based employees. Offerings range from on-campus personal training to Beer Cart Friday, a popular Adperio tradition. Employees also have access to a company bistro stocked with snacks and beverages, and they come together regularly for unconventional team-building activities and volunteer opportunities.

FINALISTS

Magneti

Denver

The leadership at this 16-person digital marketing agency knows it takes more than catered lunches and ski outings to bolster a dedicated, happy team. To attain a high level of employee engagement, Magneti invests heavily in professional development. Every Tuesday the company hosts in-house training seminars, and managers encourage team members to attend outside conferences and educational offerings, too. A typical Magneti employee spends 120 hours a year brushing up on key job skills. “We train people well enough so they can leave,” CEO Adam Williams says, “but we treat them so good they don’t want to go.”

Apostrophe Inc.

Denver

Apostrophe was founded as a B Corporation in 2016 to give self-insured employers exceptional health plans at a fair price. The health plan startup’s battle cry is, “Own it,” and that motto reverberates through Apostrophe’s corporate culture. “We’re always looking for fresh ideas, new perspectives and a diversity of experiences,” CEO and co-founder Cheryl Kellond says. By challenging everyone on the team to participate in creative solutions, Apostrophe’s leaders can engage staff on a meaningful level.
