Youth on Record is supporting upward mobility for young creatives

Youth on Record’s work with over 1,000 teens in some of Denver’s most vulnerable communities earned the nonprofit an award at the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) Business for the Arts Awards on March 10. The nonprofit organization has been serving Denver’s youth for more than ten years through music and art education.
The organization believes that music has the power to impact communities by inspiring people to make positive change in the world around them. Youth on Record’s programming employs professional musicians to teach for-credit high school classes on the arts and offers post-high school kids (up to age 24) a fellowship program where they can learn personal, professional and creative skills.
Through this programming, not only is Youth on Record inspiring young creatives, but it is helping musicians from Colorado stay in Colorado, even as the state becomes more and more expensive.
The nonprofit is rooted in its belief that helping the future of Colorado’s creative industry see and experience the upward economic mobility of the arts will create a blossoming creative economy for years to come.
