Kimpton Monaco Hotel Denver names a new director of catering

Kimpton Monaco Hotel Denver has named Shayla Englund its director of catering. Englund has more than eight years of experience in the hospitality industry and has been a part of Denver’s growing food and beverage scene for more than five years. Bringing to bear her experience in both hospitality sales and event operations, Englund will oversee Kimpton Monaco Hotel Denver’s catering sales.

Englund comes to Kimpton Monaco Hotel Denver from Coohills Restaurant in downtown Denver where she served as the restaurant’s event coordinator. At Coohills, Englund was responsible for doubling annual revenue over the course of three years and increasing wedding revenue by 35 percent annually.

Prior to her role as at Coohills, Englund served as an event assistant, lead hostess and sales associate in restaurants in Denver and New York. Englund received a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Tourism and Events from Metropolitan State College of Denver.

As the Director of Catering, Englund will oversee private dining events at Panzano as well as catering for meetings and events at Kimpton Monaco Hotel Denver, ranging from business lunches and social gatherings to rehearsal dinners and wedding brunches.
