Liddy Romero, 38

Founder-Executive Director | WorkLife Partnership

Denver

Liddy Romero founded WorkLife Partnership in 2009 on the principle that better work opportunities create better families, communities and businesses.

Under Romero’s leadership, WorkLife transitioned from a fledgling project under the Jefferson County Workforce Development Center to a stand-alone nonprofit supporting more than 1,200 people a year.

“The past 10 years, I’ve worked to create a service that is impactful, benefits the community, improves workplaces and breaks the charity-mindset of how a nonprofit is financed to grow,” she says.

Romero currently lends her expertise to the Colorado Workforce Development Council and serves on the board of the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative, which has awarded $39 million to 60,000 Colorado students. Romero was among a group of 16 leaders who served in the inaugural cohort of the Job Quality Fellowship hosted by the Aspen Institute’s Economic Opportunity Program.

Recipe for success: “Take care of yourself first. Choose a job that fits the life you want to have.”
