CBCA's John Madden, Jr. Leadership Award recognizes work such as rural development and capital campaigns

At its annual awards luncheon, the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) presented five awards including:

The John Madden, Jr. Leadership Award – named for the founding chair of CBCA –  recognizes one distinguished individual who has made strides in advancing arts and culture in Colorado.

The finalists for this honor included:

"It's critically important for business to be apart of the arts," said Schultz, president of the Boettcher Foundation and recognized for his visionary leadership championing the arts as a vehicle for community building. "If you want Fortune 500 companies to relocate to Colorado, you've got to have a strong arts community. On a much smaller level, in a small town," you don't have soul without the arts.
