As cities around Colorado continue to grow and develop, the contractors, designers, architects and developers behind the scenes require support to elevate their projects’ processes and products and enhance their clients’ experiences. At least that’s the need that Judy Goldman saw when she founded the Front Range Design Center (FRDC), which launched earlier this month in Boulder.

“For architects, contractors, designers and developers along the Front Range to create and maintain a competitive edge, reputation is everything. And their reputation depends on the client experience,” Goldman says. “Between the behind-the-scenes responsibilities of running a business and complexities of project management,  it’s easy to get bogged down and miss details that can lead to project delays or costly overruns. I saw a way to help by addressing the product and logistics pain points that persist throughout the residential and commercial building industry.”

Goldman spent two decades working in finance, project management and hospitality before taking over as CEO of Boulder-based Design Studio Interior Solutions – the sister firm of Front Range Design Center – in 2016. While at Design Studio, Goldman began to identify consistent pain points across the building industry.

“The development of FRDC embraces what I call ‘creative mechanics,’” Goldman says. “That is creating a company that specializes in processes and procedures so that professionals in the creative space like architects, designers, developers and contractors have time to stay above the fray to ensure they get back brain space and time for creativity.”

FRDC has a team of ten that can help architects, contractors, designers and developers manage their projects’ logistics from start to finish. According to Goldman, this includes everything from product sign-offs and take-offs to receiving, storing and ensuring the security of our client’s materials at our Boulder warehouse. The center also offers consultative project management services and product and design guidance.

In addition, FRDC has a materials library and product showroom that its clients can access with products from drywall, hard surfaces, cabinetry, tile, lighting and décor at wholesale pricing.

“As Denver continues to grow at record rates, I anticipate we’ll see a growing need for Front Range Design Center to provide the value-added, elevated and consultative services that contribute to stronger design and more impactful results,” Goldman says. “We’re confident that we’ve identified a gap in the building industry that takes the stress out of finding, procuring and bringing the right products, materials and expertise together.”
