38 percent – Number of Americans who say they are more likely to give a charitable gift as a holiday present this year, compared to 49 percent last year, according to a survey by Harris Interactive commissioned by Federal Way, Wash.-based World Vision, an international Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children

74 percent – Number of Americans who say they plan to increase their charitable giving once the economy improves.

76 percent – Number of Americans who say they would prefer to receive a gift that would help someone else instead of traditional items such as clothing or electronics.

95 percent – Number of Americans who say the nation’s focus around the holidays should be on helping children.
