Friday

Take a long lunch break to come enjoy music and great Colorado weather. Skyline Park puts on midday concerts every Friday from noon to 1:15 for free. This week, Coles Whalen is performing. Bring your lunch and some friends, and you will remember why people always say TGIF.

Saturday

Ready to take on a dare challenge? Urban Dare Denver is a race of smarts and speed. Teams of two must solve clues and find checkpoints to take photos and perform dares. Proceeds benefit the fight against breast cancer. Tickets are $45, and the event takes place from noon to 5:00 pm at Pat’s Downtown Bar & Grill.

If you like garage sales, you’ll love the Stapleton Community garage sale — fab finds at hundreds of houses throughout the development. Come early for the best stuff! From 8 a.m. till 1 p.m.

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is performing at the Paramount Theatre at 8:00 pm on Saturday. This controversial singer makes headlines for all sorts of reasons, but this is all about the music. Tickets start at $70, doors open at 7:00 pm.

Sunday

If you enjoy food and wine, chances are that you have a growing list of restaurants you’d like to try. Taste of the Nation at Mile High Station allows you to try 27 different restaurants in one quick day. This event raises money for Share our Strength, an organization that brings awareness to ending childhood hunger in Colorado. Buy your ticket today, and let the crossing of restaurants off your list begin. Enter the promo code COBIZ and get $5 off the $75 ticket. Sunday from 5:00-8:00 pm.

Dust off your instrument that has been sitting in the corner of your room and bring it down to Ziggie’s Saloon this Sunday. Play some blues with the host band or other local musicians at the Sunday Blues Jam. All the basic equipment will be provided, and Doc Brown will start things off and keep the beats going. There is no cover charge, and the music session begins at 7:00 pm.

All weekend

Travel around the world at the Art District on Santa Fe this Friday and Saturday, as they put on Passport to the Arts. Pick up a passport at any participating gallery or online, and get it stamped at every venue you visit. When you are done, submit your passport to win prizes, ranging from books to a $500 gift certificate to a participating art gallery. Friday from 6:00-9:00 pm and Saturday from noon-5:00 pm. The event is free.

Comedy Works is putting on a different kind of show this week at the Larimer Square location. Kenny Kane will be performing “A day in the life,” which combines his history of karate, soccer, hip-hop and track athletics. Friday at 8:00 and 10:00 pm, Saturday at 6:30, 8:30, and 10:30 pm, and Sunday at 7:00 pm. Tickets: $12 or $20, depending on the show.
