Google named Bhavna Chhabra as the new tech site director for its Boulder campus. Chhabra first joined Google in 2016 as an engineering manager and eventually became the director of Google’s payments team. She is preceded by the former site director, Scott Green, who will remain in an advisory role for Google Boulder until he retires later this year.

“Bhavna has demonstrated her commitment to the Google Boulder office and to the greater Boulder community since joining our team,” Green says. “Her impressive work ethic, positive attitude and dedication to achieving team goals have all led to this well-deserved expanded responsibilities, and I am confident in her ability to lead Google Boulder into the future.”

As Google Boulder’s tech site director, Chhabra will represent Google within the community and be responsible for maintaining the overall health, impact and success of Google Boulder. This is on top of her expanded leadership role for the Google Payments team.

“There is an incredible sense of community and collaboration here in Boulder, and I am honored to represent our office in this new role,” Chhabra says. “It’s important to me that we maintain the company culture I was initially drawn to and continue to provide a space for everyone, especially underrepresented communities and women in tech.”

Prior to joining Google, Chhabra worked as senior engineering director at Qualcomm. She was born and raised in New Delhi, India and Dubai, United Arab Emirates and attended the Cyprus College in Nicosia, Cyprus before transferring to the University of Colorado Boulder where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
