As the number of women entering the construction field continues to rise nationwide, one company is on a mission to propel these numbers even higher by launching the first coworking space for women in construction in Colorado.

Edifice2120 opened in the heart of Denver, located at 2120 W 7th Avenue, on August 27.

Edifice 2120 was built out of demand for a collaborative space where women in the construction field from engineers to architects can network, share ideas and engage with clients, contractors and services. According to a recent study by BigRentz, approximately 76% of women who hold construction jobs work off-site, while 13% of existing construction firms are owned by women. The remote office space helps fill the need for a convenient, safe workspace tailored to the needs of women-led construction firms.

Centrally located in downtown Denver and with a combined 5,500 square feet of coworking space, Edifice 2120 is environmentally friendly and offers a range of membership options that give women access to an assortment of choices including: inspiring workspaces, referral networking opportunities, classes, professional development and business support. It is comprised of private offices, warehouse space, training and conference rooms, virtual offices and ample parking spaces. Monthly memberships start from $850 with drop-in rates also available.

“Our unique workspace space creates a collaborative environment that has been lacking in the construction industry as we manage projects on-site with multiple vendors. We provide more than office and warehouse space for equipment, we provide support to bring together other women-owned businesses who thrive on doing business in a male-dominated industry and support each other as continue to manage projects, ”said Jessica Acosta, founder of Edifice 2120. “Business owners need flexibility, especially as an essential workforce as we build Colorado’s infrastructure. That flexibility and collaboration has never been more important.”

A serial entrepreneur herself, Jessica Acosta is a recognized leader within the construction industry as she leads a number of businesses within the space including Environmental Consulting Services, LLC, Acosta Group and Edifice2120. Her nearly two decades of progressive experience in the field has landed her some of the industry’s top recognitions including Denver Business Journal’s “Fast Growing Private Company,” “Outstanding Women in Business.” and Class of 2014 “Forty Under 49” awards. She received the Engineering News Record’s “20 Under 40” award and was named by ColoradoBiz Magazine as one of the “Top 5 Influential Professionals.”

From owners forced to work from home to businesses downsizing their office space, Edifice2120 provides an efficient and safe way to pivot into a more hybrid work approach, which is a perfect solution for businesses.

“We recognize the changes and demand this pandemic has brought to all businesses and understand the need for a safe and positive atmosphere where like-minded individuals that have shared visions and beliefs are empowered to work collaboratively and take their businesses to the next level,” said Acosta.
