Copper Mountain has decided to open for the 2015/16 winter season on Wednesday, Nov. 11, thanks to the hard work of Copper's snowmaking team and more than 14 inches of snow.

The resort had originally moved Opening Day to Nov. 13, but favorable conditions have made it possible to open earlier. Skiing for Opening Day will be on trails Rhapsody and Main Vein via the American Eagle lift. There will be no beginner terrain available on Opening Day. The first 400 guests in line will be treated to free doughnuts and hot chocolate.

Guests can follow Copper Mountain on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and at CopperColorado.com for updates on mountain conditions, Opening Day information and more. Guests can also call 866-841-2481 with additional questions concerning lift tickets or lodging.

Due to warm temperatures and the U.S. Ski Team athletes’ training schedule, the First Tracks: U.S. Alpine Ski Team Naming has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21. The day’s events are set to include the Putnam Investments NASTAR Pacesetting Trials, the team naming announcement and autograph signing. More details are available at CopperColorado.com.
