Female-focused Conference Hones in on Women Over 40
#SecondAct BizCon designed for professionals and entrepreneurs

A new female-focused conference is coming to Denver. #SecondAct BizCon aims to change attitudes toward female corporate professionals and entrepreneurs over 40. The unique event recognizes the trend that many women in their 40s and 50s see a professional and personal shift and are getting started on their “second act.” The scheduled lineup is designed to help women move into the next stage of their professional careers and personal lives with power, purpose and the knowledge needed to thrive. The conference will be held at the ART hotel March 21-23.
“For me, there’s nothing more powerful than bringing like-minded women together as a tribe going through similar trials to listen, learn, share and encourage positive movement into the next stage with purposeful, spirited action,” founder Barbara Brooks says.
The three-day business and lifestyle conference, presented by BloomCo media, aims to deliver the tips, tactics, strategy and self-care regimens women need to succeed.
#SecondAct BizCon includes featured speakers, breakout sessions, panel discussions and social experiences that will activate attendees. Topics include public relations and influencer marketing 3.0; understanding and analyzing digital data; and career development. The social gatherings include yoga, DIY activities and a bottomless mimosa brunch. Post-conference takeaways include action steps to reach goals, resources to like-minded business women and a Second Act Playbook.
The conference has already attracted companies including Microsoft, Citywide Banks, Colorado Women’s College NANNO, the ART Hotel Denver and Women in Kind co-working. The lineup of speakers includes Desiree Fish, 46, TripAdvisor vice president of global communications; Amy Cosper, 52, former vice president and editor of Entrepreneur; Denise Soler Cox, 48, filmmaker and co-founder of Project Eñye; and Comedy Works owner Wende Curtis.
