Today FoodMaven named Ben Deda as the company’s new CEO.

FoodMaven promoted Deda to CEO as Patrick Bultema moves to Chairman of the Board. Since joining the company, Deda has demonstrated the leadership and execution to take over as CEO. His experience in scaling startups is a great fit as FoodMaven enters its next stage of food system.

“I joined this company because of Patrick’s vision and the important problem we are trying to solve, how dedicated the team is to the mission, and the great talent of the team. It is an honor to serve this team as CEO,” Deda says.

Deda has held senior and executive leadership roles at Vertafore, Galvanize, FullContact and TruStile in operations, sales, marketing and support. He is also a co-founder and board member for Denver Startup Week, the largest free entrepreneurial event in North America.

“Ben has been one of the best hires of my career. Over the last year, he has demonstrated masterful leadership. I’m excited to have him take on the next leg of the race as CEO, and am pleased to continue to work with him, supporting now as Chairman. FoodMaven is the passion of my career, and I’m excited for the future of the company and the transformation of our food system,” Bultema says.

Deda is promoted with full support from the company’s Board of Directors. “The board is excited for FoodMaven to take on the challenges with the next stage of growth under Ben’s leadership. Patrick created a compelling vision and is an incredible evangelist for FoodMaven. He’ll continue to do so in his new role. This is a great company with a powerful mission and we look forward to FoodMaven making an even bigger impact in the future,” says Nancy Phillips, FoodMaven board member.
