Will Coloradans start cutting traditional TV services in favor of streaming?

Colorado boasts four of the nation’s top 25 metro areas with the highest percentage of household broadband penetration, according to a released May 7 by Cordcutting.com, a blog dedicated to streaming solutions and free over-the-air TV.
The study ranked these Colorado cities among the top 25 for percentage of broadband-equipped households: Boulder (91.6 percent), Colorado Springs (91.3 percent), Denver (89.8 percent) and Fort Collins (89.6 percent). Only California has more metro areas with better broadband penetration, according to the study, based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau, TiVo’s Annual Survey and Leichtman Research Group.
The study also sought to predict future cord-cutting (of traditional subscription TV services in favor of streaming services) based on two criteria: household broadband penetration and optimum download speeds offered by the area’s leading internet service provider. Denver ranked second on that list, behind only Raleigh, North Carolina. Colorado Springs ranked ninth.
