GALLERY: Kimpton Hotel Born Brings Style and Necessary Beds to Downtown Denver
Introducing Hotel Born to Denver Union Station, and helping to fix the hotel room shortage

WORKSPACE IN A HOTEL BORN GUESTROOM
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants opened its long-awaited anchor of Denver's Union Station with Kimpton Hotel Born Denver August 15, at 1600 Wewatta. Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock will speak September 7, alongside Mike DeFrino, CEO of Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants and Mark Falcone, CEO of Continuum Partners, developer of the hotel project and one of the master developers of Union Station, inviting the neighborhood and community to a dedication ceremony.
Located at the end of the Union Station platform Hotel Born is an urban accommodation with Bavarian inspired materials, exposed concrete ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and a rich collection of 700 original works by 32 local artists.
Developed by Continuum Partners, the co-master developers of the Union Station Transit Station, and designed by Denver-based Semple Brown in partnership with Ellen Bruss of Ellen Bruss Design, Hotel Born has been carefully crafted in a refreshingly straight forward manner with an alpine modern design.
"We designed Hotel Born to reflect a spirit and aesthetic that we see as distinctly Denver and the opening of its doors … is a culminating moment not only for our team, but also for the Union Station neighborhood and the entire city," says Falcone.
The 200 guest rooms range in price between $239 per night and $1,500. Hotel Born will feature two restaurants: The 160-seat Citizen Rail on the hotel's first floor opened in August featuring wood-grilled fare, and Tavernetta by Frasca, co-owned by Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey and Chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson.
The Hotel Born is the third major downtown hotel opening this year, adding its beds to the 7,360 rooms expected to open in 2017 and 2018 in Denver.
