The Board of Trustees and Investment Committee of The Catholic Foundation of Northern Colorado have developed a new approach to directing the investments in their Foundation’s portfolio. These efforts are now spearheaded by Denver-based Innovest Portfolio Solutions.

Additionally, the Board voted to allocate $35 million of the $115 million in foundation assets to Catholic Investment Services (CIS) of Boston.

Innovest Portfolio Solutions was selected through a competitive bid process. The factors used to determine the best consultant firm included:

  • Application of the Foundation’s Morally-responsible Investments (MRI) Policy to all aspects of portfolio, firm and team resources/services
  • Ensure long-term preservation of corpus
  • Ensure incremental mid- to long-term growth of portfolio, proactive research, consulting and recommendations
  • Excellence in back-office technical services
  • Partnering in the Catholic Community
  • Status as a client

About The Catholic Foundation of Northern Colorado
The Catholic Foundation of Northern Colorado was founded in 1998 as a framework for current and deferred gifts and endowments to Catholic organizations, primarily in support of long-term financial needs of parishes, schools and ministries within the Archdiocese of Denver. In 2015, the Foundation expanded its efforts to provide centralized marketing, communications and fund-raising services to eight ministries of the Archdiocese of Denver under a new sole-membership nonprofit corporation, The Catholic Foundation Alliance.  These ministries include The Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal, Bishop Machebeuf High School, Catholic Charities, Centro San Juan Diego, Holy Family High School, Redemptoris Mater Seminary, Saint John Vianney Theological Seminary and Seeds of Hope Trust.
