Kathryn Harris Named Managing Director of ActivateIT

Kathryn Harris, a nearly 20-year veteran of Colorado’s nonprofit sector, was named managing of ActivateIT, a new nonprofit division of professional placement and coaching firm, Activate Workforce Solutions.
Harris will launch ActivateIT in the Denver market, leading fundraising, community engagement and program management for the new venture. The venture will address Denver’s tech worker shortage while improving economic mobility for the people ActivateIT serves. In partnership with the national training organization, Per Scholas, ActivateIT will identify talent from overlooked communities, provide no-cost world-class IT training and match candidates with in-demand positions at some of Denver’s leading companies.
Harris brings deep experience in education-focused nonprofits to her role, having most recently served as chief operating officer at Bright by Three, a provider of early childhood development tips and resources. She was also president and CEO of Qualistar Colorado as well as director of development for the Generation Schools Network and Rose Community Foundation. Harris began her career as a senior manager with Accenture.

Harris holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Middlebury College and a certificate in Corporate Citizenship Practice from Boston College. She is pursuing a master’s degree in Leading Educational Organizations at the University of Colorado at Denver.
