Kärcher, the world’s leading provider of cleaning technology, is breaking ground on its 23-acre, 38,000-square foot facility in Aurora. The site will be the headquarters and manufacturing center of the North American subsidiary of the family-owned German company.

“We’re thrilled to be coming to Aurora and look forward to having these operations in a brand new facility,” says Javier Gonzalez, Kärcher Region North America CEO. “The location near Denver International Airport is ideal for our customers and workforce, and this was an important factor in our decision to move our North American headquarters to Aurora.”

The new site will house about 350 jobs in Aurora, and the company is investing $50 million. Kärcher partnered with the Aurora Economic Development Council (AEDC) to secure a suitable site, and the Adams County Economic Development acted as a liaison with Adams County.

“Aurora is a prime location for global companies to grow because of the connectivity through its proximity to Denver International Airport,” AEDC President and CEO Wendy Mitchell says. “Because Kärcher is a top international company, it signals to the rest of the world that Aurora is a place to pay attention to and this deal will catalyze additional economic development in the future.”

The Region North America headquarters will serve as Kärcher’s main training facility, bringing in visitors from around the world and generating some 2,500 hotel room stays annually. The facility will include manufacturing, warehouse and office space with a three-story office/training area and a 290,000-square foot manufacturing, assembly and distributions space. The facility is designed to operate more effectively and efficiently with state-of-the-art technology in place, ensuring sustainable growth for the company.

The new facility is expected to open in September of 2019 with the migration dates of existing facilities to be determined. Kärcher partnered with SunCap Property Group and Brinkmann Constructors for the construction of the new building.
