In 1929, Chet and his bride, Vernie, packed up their Model T and drove the rut-filled roads from Colorado Springs to Grand Junction, Colorado to start the Jones-Enstrom Ice Cream Company with his partner, Harry Jones. While working on an inclusion for Butter Brickle ice cream, Chet perfected a recipe for what would become his famous Almond Toffee. At the urging of family and friends, Chet founded Enstrom Candies in 1960. Today, Enstrom Candies remains a family business, now in its fourth generation. Every batch of Traditional Almond Toffee is still made by hand with only the finest ingredients, using Chet’s original recipe.
