Maximum Impact: Colorado Business Hall of Fame Laureates
It’s all that and much more. What the five 2011 Colorado Business Hall of Fame laureates share with the more than 100 alumni who have come before them is the generosity of spirit and financial commitment to their communities. We’re talking about the kind of drive that has a lasting impact long after they retire. And these people never really do. They’re too busy serving on nonprofit boards and getting their hands dirty all over again. It’s who they are.
Now in its 22nd year, the Colorado Business Hall of Fame pays tribute to the state’s business leaders while promoting free enterprise and community involvement.
Charlie Gallagher, Walter Imhoff, Mary “Ann” Padilla, Myron “Micky” Miller and Bob Young will be honored as the newest members of the Colorado Business Hall of Fame on Jan. 27. The black-tie dinner begins at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, 650 15th St.
Proceeds of the event help fund the K-12 business and economic programs of Junior Achievement.
“Being able to honor such distinguished individuals who have left a lasting legacy in Colorado, not only reinforces the importance and value of the free enterprise system, but is a true testament to their vision and character,” said Robin Wise, president and CEO of Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain Inc.
The event – underwritten by UMB Bank – also helps support the leadership, public policy, economic development and small-business development programs of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.
“As Colorado’s Business leadership, the Denver Metro Chamber understands the value and impact one strong individual can make,” said Kelly Brough, president and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber. “Our involvement with the Colorado Business Hall of Fame, the signature event in recognizing Colorado’s business leaders, reflects our respect of those Coloradans whose lifetime of work has positively impacted our state.”
