NANCY PHILLIPS, 57

President and CEO, ViaWest Inc.

Nancy Phillips co-founded ViaWest, an IT and infrastructure solutions company, in 1999. Today, the company has 30 data centers and more than 550 employees, annual revenues of nearly $300 million and relationships with more than 2,000 clients.

“I am always thinking about ensuring that how we operate as a business, and what our brand represents in the marketplace is something our employees can be proud of,” says Phillips, who is also president of Shaw Business Infrastructure Services, a division of Shaw Communications, which acquired ViaWest in 2014. “My decisions directly impact our employees and their families, and I take that responsibility to heart.”

Phillips serves on numerous boards in support of the technology industry, the Colorado community and the advancement of women. “We all have the power to shape the world we live in by our attitude and outlook, the way we treat others and how we choose to spend our time,” she says.
