WINNER

PAYTECH

Sometimes, even the best-run companies need a super hero to manage change, including the payroll department. PayTech, a payroll and human resources information systems (HRIS) consulting company, uses a "walk beside you approach" to strategically guide companies through change mangement. "Our competitors operate from a checklist," says Jan Allen, founder, CEO and president. "PayTech looks beyond the list of to-do's and goes outside the box with our clients, looking into the future and aligning their people, processes and systems to maximize their performance for years to come."

The company offers client-side human capital management (HCM) system consulting in the areas of implementation, process/system optimization, carve out and merger/acquisition, payroll staff augmentation and HRIS services.

That means Greenwood Village-based PayTech often saves the day for clients by offering client-side support to payroll departments. While other consulting companies provide project managers who organize deadlines and keep projects on track, PayTech’s certified consultants take on both strategic and tactical aspects of these implementations onsite.

The woman-owned company has 150 employees, many of whom  — like founder Jan Allen — found they are exceptional in the payroll field but faced few or undesirable career advancement opportunities. PayTech created consulting positions across North America that experienced payroll professionals could grow into.

The company supports Denver’s Dress for Success organization, sponsors a team for the annual "Step Up Walk" for The Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association, supports the Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project in Uganda and sends care packages with homemade cookies and other items to deployed U.S. soldiers with the Adopt-A-Soldier program.
