Colorado’s Throwdown Showdown talent competition hosted by the Infinity Park Event Center on August 7, 2021 features an eclectic array of local Colorado talent with a winner’s purse of $10,000. The cost for admission is FREE.
“The money can be used to help support their individual talent efforts, work on marketing and branding to help promote their act, or whatever other essentials the winner needs for the future,” explains Infinity Park Event Center general manager Bobbi Reed.
Held over one evening in Infinity Park’s state-of-the-art stadium with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. and the preliminary acts starting shortly after, this year’s competition includes Maurice Avatar, Matt Skellenger, as well as other musical acts, a comedian and various other unique talents.
The audience will enjoy ten preliminary performers completing one act each, followed by acts from the three chosen finalists. Fans will be voting on an online platform during both the prelims and the finals.
Along with audience participation and voting, the competition will be judged by Storm Gloor, Nikki Swarn and Kyle Hartman. Head judge Storm Gloor is on the Glendale City Council and is an Associate Professor Department of Music and Entertainment Industry Studies, CU College of Arts &Media. Judge Nikki Swarn is the Director of Programming at The Drop, a hip-hop and R&B station that now plays on KUVO HD2. Judge Kyle Hartman is a local music promoter and talent buyer.
A casual fan atmosphere at the competition will include a bar, food trucks and entertainment provided by DJ Trent during the break between the preliminary rounds and the finals.
Fans are encouraged to bring a picnic to the event, but no outside alcoholic beverages or glass containers are allowed.
