Circuit Media LLC

Denver | Since 2002 | Professional services

Rebecca Askew has taken her company far beyond its roots in Law Week Colorado. After receiving its 8(a) small business certification six years ago, the company began work with government contracting and began to focus on services as well as products, providing design, communications, staffing and logistics services for government.

After becoming a certified green company in 2016, Circuit Media focused its attention on green initiatives in the community through partnerships and volunteering by creating Circuit Media Green, an online platform highlighting partnerships with the Trust for Public Land and Leave No Trace. The company is also using this platform to launch a public service campaign about reducing the use of paper towels.

Circuit Media encourages employees to recognize one another through its twice-monthly Super Service Spotlight survey, which allows them to nominate co-workers who have brought them a “bright spot” in their work lives.

CirrusMD Inc.

Denver | Since 2012 | Virtual care solutions

When you’re feeling crummy, do you really want to wait a day or an hour or even 10 minutes to talk to a doctor? CirrusMD built its business on meeting consumers' demands to instantly chat to get their health questions answered. The company’s secure chat platform allows patients to connect with a caregiver in about 90 seconds.

CirrusMD founder Andy Altorfer also makes a concerted effort to ensure the company has a strong work/life balance. Employees receive unlimited paid time off, so long as their work gets done, and they are encouraged to take the time they need for their personal and family needs. In 2017, the company launched the CirrusMD in the Community program, which closes the company for a half day to ensure all employees can participate in a volunteer effort.
