Project Manager | Mortenson

Denver

From his first project with Mortenson out of college – the construction of the Charles Schwab Campus in Lone Tree – Tyler Van Eeckhaut looked for ways to involve the project team in the local community.

A longtime supporter of organizations that advocate for the differently abled, Van Eeckhaut and his team taught basic construction skills to individuals connected with an organization that provides skills and jobs for those with physical and mental disabilities, creating jobs and a revenue stream.

As project lead, Van Eeckhaut recently oversaw the construction of the 60,000 square-foot AEG Mission Ballroom, the anchor of the 14-acre North Wynkoop mixed-use project in RiNo. As part of that project, his team supported literacy at Swansea Elementary, buying furniture and books for the school library, reading to second-graders during lunch and partnering with Mile High United Way to provide more than 200 students with 12 books each.

Recipe for success: “The sooner you can build relationships, the sooner you may have different opportunities within the organization.”
