He's the recipient of the CBCA's 2019 John Madden, Jr. Leadership Award

The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts honored UMB Financial Corporation Chairman, President and CEO Mariner Kemper with the 2019 John Madden, Jr. Leadership Award for continuing UMB's comprehensive and sustained commitment to the cultural sector through his philanthropy, leadership, business practices and personal passion for the arts.
" My perspective about the arts is that it brings out the best in all of us, in all of our creativity," Kemper says. "When you see innovation in corporate America or in the world around us, there's a strong chance that it has its foundation in people who have been exposed to the arts."
