Work where you love
From big cities to small towns, Colorado has a work environment for everyone
From big cities to small towns, Colorado has a work environment for everyone.
It’s no secret that after fourteen months of being cooped up, people are itching for a change of scenery. For some that means picking up and relocating completely, whether across the state or across the country! Many people are choosing to relocate to somewhere that offers a more relaxed pace and more small-town charm. Others may crave the hustle and bustle of a big city or may want to ditch their commute entirely and become fully remote. Each of these scenarios offers lots of opportunities, so let’s look at the ways a big move could be the next big step for your career.
Less Hustle, More Hometown Feel
The lights, events, and attractions of a big city can be enticing to many people, but if you’re looking to raise a family or enjoy some peace and quiet, the city may not be your ideal place to live. A beautiful town like Grand Junction may be your ultimate escape! KLJ recently opened a new office in Grand Junction that offers sweeping views of the Colorado River, mountains, and the surrounding landscape. If you like the idea of work meetings with stunning natural backdrops, this office location is perfect for you! Although we may be new to the community, our Grand Junction employees are long-time western slope residents and contribute so much to the community already.
“We’re excited to bring 80 years of engineering infrastructure experience to Grand Junction!” says Travis Wilson, KLJ’s recruitment manager. “We aren’t new to Colorado; in fact, this is one of two locations we have in the state.”
Bright Lights, Big City
Want to pick up the pace? Denver and its suburbs are one of the fastest-growing locations in the nation. With tons of activities to try and the mountains at your fingertips, it’s no wonder the Mile High City is so popular. KLJ’s office in Englewood, CO is just minutes from downtown Denver and offers both a picturesque view and the excitement of the city. We’ve been a part of the community for years, and love being able to work somewhere we love while doing what we love.
Work from Home
Has the pandemic made you realize you enjoy working remote? We have to admit, having our pets in the “office” every day has been pretty great. KLJ moved to a fully remote setup to address safety concerns surrounding the pandemic last March, and now we offer lots of hybrid or fully remote positions across departments! There are so many beautiful places in Colorado that may not be within commutable distance of either Grand Junction or Englewood, and you may be worried that opportunities will be hard to find. At KLJ, you can work from where you love and also know your work is making a difference across Colorado and the nation. Plus, who doesn’t love not having a commute?
“KLJ has opportunities in Colorado from entry to senior level. Transportation Engineers, Water Engineers, Business Development, Internships–we have it all!” Wilson says. “In-office, remote or a mix of both, work/life balance is important to us. We want all KLJers to love where they work, and love what they do every day.”
