Here’s just a snapshot of what we’ll cover: Facebook: Fan Pages, Groups, Fans oh my... We'll take a look at each setup and make sure you are setup correctly, what to have on your Facebook page, how to add a custom welcome page, newsletter sign-up and other tabs, loading photos, videos, links and why you should use them, how to find friends and add fans to your page, tools for adding content, promoting your new Facebook page both online and offline, using causes with your fundraising campaigns. Twitter: Creating an account, adding your profile, your photo, adding a custom background, finding followers (even those right near your office), what to "Tweet" about - 10 things, how to get your entire team involved, automating Tweets - yes you can, tools to make Tweeting easier, tweet from your phone LinkedIn: You've received invites but now what? Add Twitter feeds to your account, finding new connections, the difference between Facebook and Twitter YouTube: Why videos are important for your products/services, creating your video, demos and speaker opportunities, custom backgrounds/branding on YouTube, using video on your own website, in emails and more… Blogging: When is a blog right for your organization? If you were going to help rebuild Afghanistan after the war to create a new and better country, how would you approach it? For Jim Frasche, this wasn't something where he could sit on the sidelines and simply do nothing. From bottled water to fruit orchard development, Jim found what it took to be successful in Afghanistan. At the same time he learned many lessons in why it is so difficult (beyond the obvious), and why there should be thousands of American business people there right now. - Can American business interests compete with BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) and the EU in a post-conflict Afghan economy? - How can American business priorities be achieved in a society with radically different concepts of time and space, progress and performance? - How can critical concepts of corruption, security, and progress be defined to remove them as distractions, and allow for mutual gain? - How can American entrepreneurial and corporate resources be employed to enable the emergence of Afghanistan as a responsible member of the world community of nations? Join us as Jim tells his story of being a social entrepreneur in Afghanistan, and where the opportunities lie in this yet undiscovered center of future commerce.

Living and Working in Cities: SUSTAINABLY! America's car-oriented culture has caused our cities to explode outward in suburban sprawl that now poses huge sustainability challenges. Given the general lack of public transportation, as the price of oil has risen (and few doubt that it will continue to rise inexorably in the coming decades), the cost of getting around in our cities has become a major burden on our economy, not to mention the carbon emissions associated with the billions of miles we drive every year commuting, shopping and……well, just living! While metro Denver suffers from many of these sustainability challenges, there's lots going on in our region to suggest that we can expect some significant reductions in the cost of getting around in the future as well as major improvements in the quality of life in our urban environment. Please join us on Wednesday, September 15 at the Roche Colorado facility to hear from the following experts discussing some of the ways in which we're making city living a better experience. Bill Sirois, Manager, Transport Oriented Development, RTD: will present the latest initiatives to create sustainable living communities around the increasing number of RTD Fastracks stations across the metro area. Donna Dailey, Telework Coordinator, Transport Planning & Operations, DRCOG: will show us how a well-managed telecommuting initiative can save companies significant amounts of money, improve employee morale and loyalty, and eliminate millions of commuter miles, reducing gasoline consumption and carbon emissions in the process. Parry Burnap, Executive Director, Denver Bike Sharing: will bring us up to date on Denver's revolutionary (for the US at least) effort to reduce car usage by making bicycles available inexpensively for short trips inside the city. CORE thanks Annual Corporate Supporter, Roche Colorado, for hosting this meeting at its facility. Click here for map.

Location: Denver Marriott West, Golden, CO
Web Site: http://www.goGeoNow.org
Recognized years ago by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency as “the most energy-efficient, environmentally clean and cost effective heating & cooling system available,” geoexchange technology (ground source heat pumps) is a proven, yet underutilized technology. The Colorado Geo Energy Heat Pump Association (CoGEHPA) invites you to participate in Generation Geo 2010 where you can explore the present and future of geoexchange, September 23 – 24 at the Denver Marriott West in Golden, Colorado. The two day event is Colorado's first conference and expo to focus exclusively on the business and technology of geoexchange. With heating and cooling of the built environment accounting for 40% of the nation’s total energy use, geoexchange stands out as a viable solution to reduce energy consumption and costs, while significantly decreasing carbon emissions. Sustainability driven business leaders will find the conference particularly useful in understanding how geoexchange can meet energy efficiency goals for both new construction and retrofit applications. "If you ask any geoexchange user, whether commercial or residential, they consistently praise the comfort and lower energy costs of their system, " says CoGEHPA executive director, Ben Northcutt. "Generation Geo 2010 will thoroughly explore this technology to showcase its many economic and environmental advantages. Not only are we providing training for the professionals who install and design these systems, but for those unfamiliar with the technology, we will explain its unique advantages as well as dispel the myths that have long plagued the wide spread adoption of geoexchange."

This year there will be three events combined in one evening, and tiered prices will be offered for attendees. First, there will be a limited seating, black-tie optional, fine dining experience. “Madden Museum Masterpiece” features a fine dining experience, a private wine tasting and art show in the Madden Museum accompanied by live music. Next is the Italian Jazz Quartet – “A Taste Above”, which features 4 local Italian restaurants coming together to prepare an Italian dinner feast surrounded by the sounds of jazz. Seating in this area is limited to 100 tickets for the evening. And finally, our popular food and wine main event: “Taste under the Stars” featuring over 30 restaurants and wineries. For the 2010 anniversary celebration, Wine Source of Colorado will present outstanding winemakers with their portfolios from 75 wineries representing the leading wine regions of the world. Owners Gary and Aaron Steinke continue their tradition of providing a wide variety of boutique wines at the Taste of Greenwood Village: "Wines we believe in, from people we believe in." The event provides patrons both domestic and international boutique wines for tasting, as well as the opportunity to order their favorite selections during the evening for local delivery or pickup after the event. Gary Steinke shares his passion for wine: "I came to see the real heart of the industry was made up of people with a real love of wine (and food along with that) who were endlessly excited, curious and appreciative about the enjoyment of wine". Event times are 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm for the indoor and outdoor venue and from 6:30 to 8:30 pm for the sit down dining. As in previous years, the popular tradition continues of providing the all-inclusive evening (food, wine, general parking) to our 21 year and older patrons. Patrons of the Taste of Greenwood Village event will be able to view the gorgeous array of silent auction items under the beautiful chandelier in the marble Atrium. All proceeds from the silent auction benefit the ongoing community services provided by the Beacon Center. http://www.beaconcenter.org To order tickets and for additional information please visit our website: http://www.tasteofgreenwoodvillage.com or contact The Greenwood Village Chamber of Commerce at 303.290.9922 or
