Teamwork Makes the Dream Work for the State's Top Technology Firm

Centennials' Mobile Solutions named Top Company in the Technology industry

Two of this year's Top Companies – the winner and one finalist – in the Technology sector are posted in the Denver metro area, while the third has firmly planted its roots in Durango, Colorado – evidence that, indeed, technology is geographically agnostic, unfazed by physical borders and boundaries. Here we celebrate Colorado's leading technology firms for the year:

Mobile Solutions provides software that helps its clients run their businesses. The Software as a Service (SaaS) company provides full lifecycle Managed Mobility Services, including procurement, staging and kitting, real-time expense management, business analytics and reporting, account optimization and device reclamation services. Mobile Solutions provides U.S.-based support around the clock.

Owned and operated by entrepreneurs Jim and Kim Johnson, Mobile Solutions has grown to 79 employees over the last decade. The Johnsons carefully select each employee because they believe that teamwork is critical to the company’s success.

“This is the first time that our staff and our office reflect what our priorities are,” Jim Johnson says. “We want people to enjoy the people they work with. We’re looking for team players, not individuals.”

Mobile Solutions also believes it’s important to give back to the community. On “dress-down days” employees are asked to donate a dollar to the Susan G. Komen foundation, and on Food Truck Fridays, the company asks that a portion of the profits go to the nonprofit.

Jim Johnson says he enjoys seeing his employees succeed not only in their careers, but in their personal lives as well. “It’s not just a career and a business,” he says. “We’re trying to build people’s lives.”

Since opening shop in 1980, DISH Network Corp. has served as a disruptive force in the pay television industry, first with DISH TV satellite service and now with live-TV streaming through Sling TV. DISH recently introduced whole-home, hands-free TV as the first pay-TV provider to integrate Alexa voice control. It also extended the set-top box experience to Amazon Fire TV products.

The company recently announced plans to build a national narrowband “Internet of Things” network, enhanced its dedicated wireless team and negotiated agreements to lay the foundation for the network’s infrastructure. DISH is committed to protecting the environment through sustainable business practices. Last year, it recycled nearly 6 million pounds of cardboard, diverted 28 million pounds of waste from landfills and drove nearly 8 million alternative fuel miles.

Think Network Technologies’ commitment to customer service combined with its technical expertise and product knowledge allows it to deliver the technology solutions its clients need. The company, which serves the Four Corners, specializes in managed services, enterprise solutions, cloud solutions and IT consulting. The company is ranked among the top fastest-growing IT services providers in North America. Think has partnered with a local middle school to execute the Hour of Code, a global educational event designed to demonstrate that anybody can learn the basics of code and broaden participation in computer science.

Think’s support also has allowed Mountain Middle School to provide its students with robots and single-board computers to continue computer programming education during a weeklong learning session.
