Here are the Best of Colorado Business Choice 2016 winners and finalists in the Lodging/Accommodations category.
BEST BUSINESS HOTEL
Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center
People think the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center is new, but it has been there for ten years. The layout, the design and the facility are timeless, and the meeting rooms have been refreshed, says Greg Leonard, Hyatt Regency Denver general manager. The reason people come back, though, is the friendly, helpful staff of 650. Leonard says he recently received a letter from a guest thanking him because an assistant executive steward, who handles silverware and tableware at events, helped her find the correct room when she could not locate her breakout session at a meeting. “We focus on our people, on making sure they are taken care of so they can take care of all those other folks,” he says.
Runners-up: Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center Hotel, Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain, Four Seasons Hotel Denver
BEST LEISURE HOTEL
Located at the southern edge of the Rocky Mountains, The Broadmoor is surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
The AAA Five-Diamond rated resort in Colorado Springs offers guests 54 holes of championship golf, six tennis courts, indoor/outdoor pools, distinctive retail shops, specialty tours, activities and programs for guests of all ages. With 185,000 square feet of meeting space, The Broadmoor also is ideal for corporate meetings and events, as well as weddings.
For guests who are interested in a more rustic experience than the elegance offered by the main resort, The Broadmoor offers ranch and fishing experiences, as well as Cloud Camp featuring an 8,000-square-foot lodge that serves as the backdrop for relaxed gatherings.

BEST MEETING AND EVENT VENUE
Set on 5,000 acres of lush property on the southern edge of the Rocky Mountains, The Broadmoor offers 185,000 square feet of meeting space in 62 separate venues.
The largest meeting room is the 60,000-square-foot Broadmoor Hall, and there are several outdoor venues at the luxury resort located in Colorado Springs. The Broadmoor will provide meeting space on a complimentary basis, providing a percentage of attendees stay at the property, which boasts 522 guest rooms, 111 suites, two brownstones, 44 cottage bedrooms and 10 cabins at the Ranch at Emerald Valley.
Out-of-town guests can choose to fly into the Colorado Springs Airport, about 15 minutes from The Broadmoor, or Denver International Airport, about 75 minutes from the resort.
Infinity Park Event Center, Westin Riverfront Resort at Beaver Creek, Nativ Hotel
BEST TEAM-BUILDING PLACE
Topgolf’s food, full-service bars and competitive fun make it a great place for corporate team-building events.
Whether employees have played golf for years or have never swung a club, everyone can test their skills by hitting microchipped balls into dartboard-like targets. All events include three hours of Topgolf play, free club rental, game demonstration and a dedicated event ambassador, as well as bottomless soda, iced tea water and one selection from the venue’s eight menu options.
Located at 10601 E. Easter Ave. in Centennial, Topgolf features 102 climate-controlled hitting bays; rooftop terrace with fire pits and a stage for live musical performances; 250 HD TVs; and a lower-level lounge with complimentary pool tables, shuffleboard and Xbox Kinect.
Runners-up: Action Learning, Punch Bowl Social, Dave and Busters
BEST EVENT PLANNING SERVICE
Gareth Heyman, whose title is Wizard of All Things at MorEvents, really means it when he says every event is different. One client held a board of directors meeting in the Grand Canyon, so Morevents had to helicopter in everyone and everything. Another client, King Soopers, held a health and wellness expo at the Colorado Convention Center, and had a temporary supermarket installed at the event. When St. Joseph Hospital moved to its new facility, it had a grand reopening in the ambulance bay. “Although we use as much technology as we can, at the end of the day events are still people driven,” says Heyman, a principal of the 20-year-old firm. “We love what we do and we hope they will too.”
Runners-up: EKS Events, Destination Services Corporation Inc. (DSC), three way tie for third: A Touch of Bliss, Epicurean Catering, Footers Catering
