Nadia Garas’ professional journey has meant serving as communications point person for some of Colorado’s most consequential transportation projects. As part of the team working on the $2.2 billion Eagle P3 project in Denver (the RTD A, B and G commuter rail lines), she helped create overwhelming consumer demand to help secure timely regulatory approval.
“She has thrived in a male-dominated industry because she is smart, strategic and thoughtful, always thinking three steps ahead to understand the intended consequences and predict the unintended ones,” colleague Barb Jones says.
Garas gives back as a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and a board member for the Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation. She also serves on the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Infrastructure Committee and is a member of Women in Transportation and A Precious Child.
Recipe for success: “You are only as good as your mentors. Behind every successful person is a handful of others who have helped get them there.”
