Ryan Odell Tackles Some of PCL's Most Challenging Projects
The construction company's senior project manager named Top Young Pro in Colorado
RYAN ODELL, 35
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, PCL CONSTRUCTION SERVICES INC.
Ryan Odell is a man of action. “He constantly challenges internal processes and external obstacles to find ways to improve PCL’s business,” colleague Kimberly Boshart says. Odell has tackled some of PCL’s most challenging projects, including the $200 million luxury Ritz-Carlton Residences resort in Vail, the $15 million Mesa Verde Visitor Center, RTD’s $75 million Commuter Rail Maintenance Facility and the $98 million Strata Vail Condominium project. His success has earned him the title of Senior Project Manager—the youngest in the PCL district.
Outside of work, Odell supports the Morgan Adams Foundation, which raises money for pediatric brain cancer research—a diagnosis his oldest son beat. “When Ryan’s oldest son was diagnosed with brain cancer, the treatment process was intense in both length and severity, but Ryan managed to maintain his commitments to his team and perform his work, even when this meant working for a good portion of the night after a long day at the hospital,” Boshart says. “Ryan could have easily used the excuse of over-exhaustion, but instead, he demonstrated his dedication and commitment to his team and company.”
Odell has worked with Children’s Hospital Colorado to establish a program to set up activities for kids receiving treatments such as chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants who are too sick to leave their rooms.
