In eight years, Sarah Tiedeken O’Brien has climbed the ranks from entry-level employee to project architect and interior designer, and is now the youngest member of the executive team as a partner and owner.

“I really love being able to work directly with our customers to create the home of their dreams,” she says. “The great thing about architecture is that every project is truly one-of-a-kind and has its own set of challenges and rewards.”

Outside the office, she captains the local women’s rugby club, the Charging Heifers, which has helped clean up the Yampa River and assisted with the Girls on the Run of Western Colorado. She mentored a Vertical Arts intern, and critiqued projects for Colorado Mountain College students taking an introduction to architecture class.

Recipe for success: “Pushing your own boundaries and taking on new challenges will help you grow and succeed. I think being a ‘yes’ person that is willing to try goes a long way.”
